Berlin-based design fest.
Dirk wrote us to say "you should write something about the right-now running DESIGNMAI". We meant to write it earlier, but here goes; Design May is on now in Berlin (it runs through May 16) and it's featuring recent work from 100 or so designers. Not unlike Milan, there's a main site and several satellite events throughout Berlin for award ceremonies, parties and "happenings in unusual settings". The knife rack above came from the Young + German photo gallery, as did the Konstantin Grcic chair and what appears to be Kram/Weisshaar Breeding Tables. I don't have time to track down the designer of the knife rack. Be the first person to correctly identify the designer and I'll send you a brand new Jimi. Email me at harry@mocoloco.com.
