This Week At Art MoCo

The week started with clothes on hangers with a view over Manhattan’s Chinatown. Thomas Holton’s photo essay about a family of 4 takes us beyond the walls of their apartment and reminds us that there are three-dimensional lives behind the snapshots.

Thomas Mazzarella’s paintings are simple bursts of colour and form that tell intricate stories.

Frank Plant combines wire and found objects to create sculptural pieces that are often much more than decorative, if at all. Particularly noteworthy is his series on hostages.

What happens when you ask a group of artists to focus on bugs? Well, a Band of Bugs is sure to come out of it looking pretty good.

The children in Robin Williams’ paintings look as though they need a lot of love, but maybe their thoughts and feelings are reflections of regular childhood angst. SM
