There are some days, ie., when it's -25C outside, that Spring is highly anticipated. In May, Spring here in Canada, former Wallpaper magazine landscape editor Tim Richardson will see his book Avant Gardeners published. The book documents the last ten years in avant garde landscape and garden design, "garden plans [that] have embraced the latest thinking in materials, science, and interactive design, and have appropriated ideas from related disciplines such as architecture and product design, redefining and blurring the borders of nature and the man-made.". Like the ones we've seen at the International Garden Festival, in fact by firms featured in the book such as Atelier Big City, Claude Cormier and Nip Paysage. Hardcover, 352 pages, 500+ color illustrations, due in May, $37.80 at Amazon.
