This week's MoCo picks.

Zamore Homes home kits, "The company will sell customizable homes ranging from 400 to 2,200 square feet at $100 to $170 per square foot, but it won’t do so in the typical prefab fashion. Instead, Zamore will outsource assembly to outlets near the building site.". Via Dwell Blog.

Winners of the 99k House Competition, the "goal of the competition was to create an innovative design for a small house that is affordable, sustainable, and energy efficient... The construction budget for each home had to be under $99,000...". Via Jetson Green.

Friman Laaksonen Architects' Humlegård House, a year-round residence located in the town of Fiskars, 78 kilometers west of Helsinki. "The floor plan resembles the layout of a traditional peasant farmhouse, split lengthwise into two. The house consists of three multi-function areas: two large living rooms linked by a loft with a bathroom and walk-in closet below.". Via thecoolhunter.net.

Vernissage.TV's interview with architect Rianne Makkink and designer Jurgen Bey at Design Miami Basel, part of a joint-venture "to investigate Chinese craftmanship and combine it with contemporary ideas and forms. Makkink and Bey are re-inventing traditional Chinese art and craft techniques with its conceptual 'Cleanliness is next to Godliness' series.". Via Dezain.

Vernissage.TV's interview with Max Lamb at Design Miami Basel, for his Solids of Revolution project, "two collections of stools in concrete and wool felt formed using rotational cutting processes". Via Core77.

 Designws.com coverage of Design Miami/Basel.

London's Graduate Art and Design Summer shows at the Truman Brewery, where "the Product Designers Market, produced by Middlesex University students, stole the show.". Per Core77.

NoDesign's Wazz AL audio shelf video, "The mere presence of an audio CD or of specific labels launches or stops the music in the play slot: the cover is the wand.". Via swissmiss.

Cosmic's Upgrade bath collection. "All functions are hidden – no handles, controls, spouts or unnecessary details to clutter the look. Water emerges from a simple, perfect hole embedded into the side wall of the ‘bathstone’ sink and a clever flap covers the handle functions.". Via Trendir.

Publique Living's PopMat Paper Mats featuring pop-up graphics on disposable paper placemats. Via sub-studio design blog.

While looking for design and function we discovered Function Drinks. Too bad the bottle isn't made of glass. Via TheDieline.com.
