How tempting is a cosy Aran knit sweater for your laptop? Wool, wood and leather are the key ingredients in designs by Irish studio Superfolk, and Gearoid Muldowney's series of Aran laptop bags makes the most of two out of three.

The emerging studio places an emphasis on locally sourced materials and the craft of production. The land, its animals and its weather are at the heart of Superfolk designs.

In referencing a way of life that is tied to the land, Superfolk bags remind users of this heritage by using local animals as inspiration for the series of Aran bags.

Pine Martin, Hare, Fox and Sheep are based on traditional construction techniques and lined with a woolen Aran cable knit.

The studio takes a vernacular approach to its work and the Stools project is a reflection of this sensibility. Made from oak and ash, the stools can be connected together in a variety of arrangements to become tables, benches or footstools.

Each piece is bored with holes appropriate for lacing by the user. The lacing can be decorative or functional, depending on whether the piece is to be grouped or used on its own.

Superfolk will be launching new products at the Stockholm Furniture Fair next week.

Interesting laptop bag. The leather will protect my baby from moisture and heat as I go around town, but the soft wool inside will keep the lappy from jarring accidents. Very nice indeed!
Love the cable-knit/leather combo!
