Anna Ter Haar's Cinderella's Chair wears not a glass slipper, but a blown glass prosthesis.

Each glass support is custom made to fit a specific chair, much the same way a prosthetic leg would be made to fit.

The glass is indeed fragile, but its malleability when heated lends itself well to the custom work.

Despite appearances, the new legs are strong enough to carry weight, so the chairs are by no means strictly ornamental.
