Collect: Second Hand Stories by Caroline Slotte
by Jaime / June 7, 2010

Like an increasing number of designers, Caroline Slotte uses existing materials as her artistic base. Her collection, Second Hand Stories, is a series of blue ware plates, sand blasted down to both isolate and reveal single narrative threads.

The recent exhibition, COLLECT, at the Saatchi Gallery included Slotte's contemporary craft work, as well as that of Paul Derrez and Tomas Kral.

Tomas Kral showcased his newest series of reworked glass vessels. Using found glass objects, the Swiss designer "cuts them in half only to paste them into new partnerships."

Galerie Rosemarie Jager presented the work of Paul Derrez, a silversmith who created stunning silver cups and bowls highlighted by electric colored bases.
