The title of Lillian Warren's recent show, Here is Nowhere, is the perfect moniker for a series of paintings depicting the all too ordinary scenes of the urban landscape that are almost invisible. We look at the signage, the telephone phones and light standards that mark our way, but we never really see them. Warren manages to create impressionistic scenes that use these elements in a softer, kinder way than that to which we are accustomed. Here becomes everywhere.
