The Back Yard is a place where we live in secret, enjoying our own microcosms of nature or hiding from the outside world. A series of photographs by Chris Schiavo is made up of carefully constructed installations (but the images have not been manipulated in any way) meant to evoke humour, nostalgia and memories. The tableaus are those of fractured narratives, and although the scenes are right out of American Suburbia, there is a mystery about them, too.
