Explorations of domestic life and the female role have been topics of paintings by Fides Becker in the past, and this Frankfurt am Main-based artist is now taking a look at the bourgeois interiors of years gone by. Working with acrylic and egg tempera, Becker creates scenes that are almost abstract, perhaps fading from memory as the interiors recede into the past. Is this all an illusion of grandeur?
