Venezuelan-born and US-trained Pablo Pardo designs, manufactures and sells lighting and a number of other products (the cushions and organic-looking trash can designs are great) out of his San Francisco workshop.

				The Ventana is a combination lamp and curtain that merges roller-blind construction with a multi-directional ambient light fixture. The Ventana works like a windowshade, and can be pulled down to various lengths up to 9 feet. It illuminates from a light canister held at the end of the inner and outer fabric sheaths that make up the body of the light. It is attached via a pivoting wall mount that allows it to lay flush or perpendicular to a wall. The Aura series, pictured below, appears to float within a cylinder of colored acrylic. It measures just over two feet in height by a foot across at its widest point.
